Isla Negra + Undurraga

Neruda’s house by the sea and a winery on the way back.

Three stops in one day: the Undurraga winery, with four tastings and a souvenir glass; Algarrobo, where you have lunch facing the largest swimming pool in the world, inside the San Alfonso del Mar complex; and Isla Negra, Pablo Neruda’s house looking out at the Pacific.

Entry to Neruda’s house is not included and is bought at the museum itself. Departure at 6am, running Tuesday to Sunday.

Questions and answers

Can I go to the beach?

You can look at it and walk along it, not swim. In winter the Chilean Pacific is cold even on a sunny day, and the coast is windier than Santiago. Bring one more layer than you would in the city.

Is there a lot of walking?

In Valparaíso, yes: the city is built on hills and the route climbs stairs and slopes. Not the best tour if you have limited mobility. Viña del Mar, next door, is flat.

How long is the full day?

About ten hours door to door, leaving at 6am. It takes the whole day: nothing else fits around it.

Is the boat ride included?

No. The harbour boat and the funicular are optional and paid there. Neither is essential, but the boat is the only way to see the port from the water.

Does the guide speak Portuguese?

Yes, from pickup to drop-off. Not a recording, not a translation app.

Do you pick up at my hotel?

Yes, at any hotel in central Santiago, Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura. If yours is outside that area, we agree on a nearby meeting point.

Can I pay in Brazilian reais?

Yes. We take Pix and cards, at the rate locked when you book. The balance can also be paid in pesos on the day.

What if I need to cancel?

Free cancellation and rescheduling up to 24 hours before departure.
